Flow State shifts noticeably between natural and artificial light, and its blue-green balance is the reason. In bright, natural daylight, it reads its freshest and clearest, often close to a soft robin's-egg blue. In cooler, lower, or artificial light, it can lean more green. Because it is a very light color, it also takes two coats to reach its full, true depth, and it can look pale after a single coat. Sampling in the actual space and viewing it at different times of day before committing to a full gallon is recommended, which is why Clare offers peel-and-stick swatches.
For shades adjacent to Flow State, consider Headspace, which reads as a deeper, more established blue-green, or Views, which leans clearer toward robin's-egg blue. For a cooler, icier light blue without the green, Frozen offers a crisp alternative. Clare's peel-and-stick swatches make it easy to compare these light blues side by side in your space before committing.
Sampling in the actual room is the single most reliable way to choose between similar colors. Paint colors shift depending on the room's light exposure, ceiling height, furnishings, and flooring. Clare's peel-and-stick swatches allow direct comparison of multiple colors on the wall without the mess of traditional paint samples. Observe each swatch at different times of day and under both natural and artificial light before making a final decision.
For small bedrooms, high-LRV colors (LRV 55 and above) open up the space and make it feel larger. Clare On Point, Whipped and Timeless all work well in smaller bedrooms. Soft warm neutrals in the greige and warm beige families add coziness without closing the space in. For small bedrooms where drama is the goal, low-LRV colors like Deep Dive or Current Mood work beautifully when balanced with strong light sources and light-colored furnishings.
LRV stands for Light Reflectance Value. It measures how much light a paint color reflects on a scale from 0 (absolute black, absorbs all light) to 100 (pure white, reflects all light). Colors with higher LRV values make rooms feel brighter and more open; colors with lower LRV values feel richer and more dramatic. As a general guideline, LRV 50 and above works well in most rooms and lighting conditions. For rooms with limited natural light, prioritizing colors with LRV 55 or higher helps maintain a bright, welcoming feel.

Used this in our guest room/office. It makes the room light and is perfect!
This color was gorgeous for our guest bath and took the drab beige to a calm beachy vibe without changing any countertops or cabinets. Loved it! Self priming but takes 2 coats for the color to look ideal.
